So that we can offer you the best deals, our packages are, like most hotels and cruises, priced based on double occupancy rooms or cabins. We charge solo travelers an extra fee to cover the extra costs of single occupancy rooms or cabins. (Consider: if you booked a $200/night hotel room solo, you would pay the $200 yourself; but if a couple booked the same room, each one would pay only $100.) But you only pay extra for the rooms or cabins, nothing else, including meals, sightseeing, tips, etc. Why are single rooms more?

Welcome to Mexico! Upon arrival at Benito Juárez International Airport, meet your representative and transfer to your centrally located hotel in the heart of the capital. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, settle in, or begin exploring the lively streets, cafés, and museums that make Mexico City one of the world’s most fascinating urban centers.

Optional Excursion: Tacos & Mezcal Tour, $142
Tacos al pastor

Taste your way through Mexico City’s legendary taco scene on a nighttime food adventure that celebrates the country’s most iconic dish. Sample an array of regional favorites—from smoky grilled tacos and the city’s beloved tacos al pastor, to hearty northern-style tacos and the much-sought-after suadero taco, made from thin cuts of beef slowly confited until tender, then crisped and served with onion, cilantro, lime, and fresh salsa. Between stops, learn the art of mezcal from a local master as you sip handcrafted varieties that reveal the deep heritage of this spirit. It’s an evening filled with flavor, culture, and stories only Mexico City can tell.

Metropolitan Cathedral, Zócalo

After breakfast, set out on a half-day guided tour through the vibrant heart of Mexico City. Begin at the Palace of Fine Arts and walk toward the grand Zócalo, where layers of history unfold before your eyes, from the ancient Aztec Templo Mayor to the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest in Latin America. Admire the elegant colonial architecture along the way, including the Casa de los Azulejos and the Palace of Iturbide, before continuing with a panoramic drive along Paseo de la Reforma to view Chapultepec Castle and the city’s iconic monuments. Your morning concludes at the renowned Museum of Anthropology, home to an extraordinary collection that brings Mexico’s indigenous heritage to life.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to unwind, enjoy the city at leisure, or join a shared optional excursion.

Optional Excursion: Lucha Libre Wrestling & Mezcal Experience, $152
Lucha libre

Step into one of Mexico’s most electrifying traditions with an evening of Lucha Libre, the colorful world of masked wrestling where athleticism meets theater, and “Good vs. Evil” comes alive in the ring. Begin with a guided walking tour led by a former professional wrestler, who’ll share insider stories and the history behind this beloved national spectacle. Sample artisanal mezcal paired with freshly made guacamole before heading to Arena México, the legendary home of Lucha Libre. Once the lights dim and the crowd roars, you’ll cheer on the Technicians—the heroic “good guys”—and the Rudos, their flamboyant, rule-breaking rivals, in an unforgettable display of passion and pageantry. You’ll even take home your own souvenir wrestler mask to remember the experience.

In the evening, enjoy the city’s thriving restaurant scene, from casual taco stands to elegant dining experiences, or take part in an exciting shared optional tour.

Step back in time at the awe-inspiring archaeological site of Teotihuacan, home to the majestic Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. Learn about this ancient city’s mysteries before continuing to the Basilica of Guadalupe, Mexico’s most important pilgrimage site and a symbol of faith and devotion.

In Puebla City, visit the grand Puebla Cathedral, the ornate Rosary Chapel, and browse handcrafted pottery and textiles at the lively El Parián Market. Continue to Cholula, home to the Great Pyramid—the largest by volume in the world—topped by the golden-domed Church of Our Lady of Remedies. Venture into Mexico’s “silver capital,” Taxco, a picturesque town of whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets. Visit the stunning pink-stone Church of Santa Prisca, browse local silversmith workshops, and stop in Cuernavaca, the “City of Eternal Spring,” for its beautiful cathedral and gardens.

Note: This is a shared full day tour and cannot be combined with the Cooking Class excursion.

Step into a private kitchen in Polanco for an authentic hands-on culinary experience that celebrates the heart and soul of Mexican cuisine. Guided by a professional chef, you’ll prepare handmade tortillas, traditional sauces, and a six-course tasting menu using more than 20 native ingredients. Dishes include Dorado ceviche, cecina escabeche, grilled marlin tacos, zarandeado octopus, carnitas tortas, and chocolate tamales, paired with refreshing fruit water, tequila, mezcal, beer, and coffee.
